Firearms & Regulated Products

CompoundHQ complies with applicable Australian Commonwealth, State and Territory laws governing firearms, ammunition and other regulated goods. That means some products can only be supplied to customers who hold the licences, permits or other authorisations the law requires — and we take that seriously.

Regulated products include firearms, ammunition and certain parts and accessories restricted by law. What's regulated — and how tightly — depends on the product and on Commonwealth, State and Territory rules. Many ordinary accessories we sell, such as optics, cleaning equipment, safes and apparel, are not restricted, and we don't describe them as requiring licences unless that's actually the case for that product.

Where a specific product is regulated, its listing on our website will say so.

Firearms may only be supplied to customers who hold a valid firearm licence, and you may also need a Permit to Acquire for the particular firearm. Permits are issued by the licensing authority in your State or Territory, usually specify the category and sometimes the exact firearm, and typically have limited validity periods — we'll confirm what applies to your order.

Where required by law, firearm transfers must occur through appropriately licensed firearms dealers. In practice, your firearm isn't shipped to your door like an ordinary parcel — it's transferred to a licensed dealer, you complete the applicable paperwork, and you collect it from that dealer once everything is in order. We'll arrange and explain the transfer as part of your order.

Interstate purchases may require dealer-to-dealer transfers between the sending and receiving jurisdictions, and each State and Territory has its own rules about what can be brought in and how. Where your order crosses a border, we'll confirm the applicable requirements before proceeding.

Ammunition and regulated parts can have their own restrictions, separate from those for firearms — including limits on who may purchase, quantity limits, and licence category requirements. Where a product is restricted, the requirements are shown on its listing.

Whether you're eligible to purchase a regulated product is determined by the applicable law and the product type — including your licence, permits and, where relevant, your location. We don't make those rules; we apply them.

You're responsible for supplying the documentation we're required to collect, which may include:

• —your current firearm licence details (and, where applicable, those of the receiving dealer);
• —any required Permit to Acquire, current and matching the purchase;
• —proof of identity where reasonably required; and
• —any other information the applicable law requires for the transaction.

CompoundHQ may verify licences and permits before completing a regulated transaction. If legal eligibility can't be established — or documentation can't be verified within a reasonable time — an order may be suspended or cancelled, and any amount paid refunded.

The rules that apply to your order are those of the relevant jurisdiction, and we'll tell you which ones affect you at the time of ordering.
